Blaze Foley is a cult legend, an iconoclast who was banned from virtually every bar in town, but whose songs are deeply admired and whose persona has been immortalized in the Lucinda Williams song āDrunken Angelā and the Ethan Hawk directed film āBlaze.ā Foley worked with the likes of Gurf Morlix, Townes Van Zandt and Calvin Russell among others and his songs have been covered by Merle haggard, Lyle Lovett and John Prine.
